    L.A.W Compile a Six-Way Cross-Section of Extreme Electronics on LAW002

The Los Angeles label's second compilation corrals flashcore, schranz, harsh noise and experimental techno into a concise and uncompromising 12"

L.A.W (Last Audio Worship) have announced LAW002, their second various artists compilation, due for release on digital and 12″ vinyl on 31 July 2026, with a Bandcamp digital release to follow on 8 August. The six-track release brings together artists working across flashcore, industrial, schranz, noise, techno and experimental electronics, united less by genre than by a shared indifference to restraint.

The compilation runs approximately eighteen minutes across its two sides and is available to pre-order now via Bandcamp. Mastering is handled by Dimitar Nikolov, with artwork by TLMITCHEL and logo design by xx.sw9. All six tracks are exclusive to the release, with the exception of VIIV‘s ‘Interface 4’, which appeared digitally on Computer Based Knowledge in 2020.

    The tracklist is as follows:

    Side A:
    DJ Spell – ‘sssspeed’
    VIIV – ‘Interface 4’
Qebrus – ‘Vlcnmtr’ (C Mantle Remix)

    Side B:
Slave to Society – ‘Zero Point’
    Buzzi – ‘Spotty Density’
    HFK – ‘Carnage’

L.A.W launched in 2025 with a stated mission of releasing extreme rave music, and LAW002 consolidates that brief whilst widening its reach. The label’s roster for this compilation is genuinely international in scope: DJ Spell (Jonas Meurer-Lunde) arrives with a psychedelic techno opener that moves from intergalactic drift into pummelling high-tempo pulse; VIIV (Marvin Morath and Jose Maria Rios Gutierrez), operating out of Germany, contribute a comparatively measured piece of noisy techno, bouncing and mechanical, poppy only by the standards of everything surrounding it.

The compilation’s most storied pairing comes in the form of ‘Vlcnmtr’, a Qebrus track remixed by C Mantle. Qebrus, real name Thomas Denis, was a respected sound design figure whose influence on experimental electronics extended well beyond his output before his death; the remix, credited to Christopher Mantle, was made with the blessing of the Qebrus estate. The result is a sparse, percussive piece built from hollow industrial clatter that gradually assembles itself into something resembling a beat without ever quite conceding to one.

Side B opens with Slave to Society (Andrew Bowen), a figure with roots in rave and techstep hardcore, whose ‘Zero Point’ pushes manipulated percussives and drum and bass-adjacent passages through a lens of orb-like synth electronics. NYC-based Buzzi (Jose Buzzi) follows with ‘Spotty Density’, a schranz track of considerable weight, singular in its march, bludgeoning in its execution. HFK (Florian Bienaimé), described by the label as a flashcore legend and a notably elusive figure, closes proceedings with ‘Carnage’: a track that eases out of ambience before collapsing into harsh, pounding noise that offers rhythm only in the loosest possible sense.

LAW002 is not a compilation interested in synthesis or coherence in any conventional sense. Each of its six artists is operating in a distinct corner of extreme electronics, and the sequencing makes no attempt to smooth the transitions between them. That is, presumably, the point. As a document of where this cluster of genres currently sits, the record is impressively rangy; as a listening experience it rewards those who can follow it on its own terms. Whether the label intends to maintain this level of curatorial ambition across subsequent releases remains to be seen, but LAW002 is a more considered statement than its brief runtime might initially suggest.

LAW002 is released digitally and on 12″ vinyl on 31 July 2026, with the Bandcamp digital release following on 8 August 2026.
