Tampa’s reputation as one of the foundational homes of American extreme metal is built on decades of history, but the city’s underground remains very much alive. This September, Tampa Death Fest returns for its eighth year, bringing two nights of death metal, extreme music, and underground mayhem to the Brass Mug at 1450 Skipper Road.
Taking place September 4 and 5, 2026, this year’s festival brings together a mix of Florida acts, established underground names, and bands traveling from across the United States and Puerto Rico. The result is a bill that reflects both the history and continuing evolution of extreme metal.
Rather than relying solely on nostalgia, Tampa Death Fest 2026 puts rising and underground bands alongside veteran performers, creating a weekend that connects different generations of extreme music.

This year’s festival combines underground brutality with veteran names from the death-metal scene, featuring 16 bands from Florida, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio, and Puerto Rico.
Friday’s lineup includes Syndicate, Eroguro Phantasmagore, Homicyde, Unholy Disciple, Leprosy, Sacrilous, Viogression, and Foreverless.
Saturday features Grave Filth, Ramtha, Gouted Corpse, Coathanger Abortion, Sapraemia, Gangrenesia, Must Not Kill, and Tampa legends Nasty Savage, who will close out the festival.
With Nasty Savage representing Tampa’s historic contribution to extreme metal and a strong roster of current underground acts, the festival bridges the city’s metal legacy with the scene’s next generation.

With sixteen bands spread across two nights, Tampa Death Fest 2026 offers a strong snapshot of where extreme metal stands right now: rooted in the traditions that established scenes like Tampa’s, but constantly being pushed forward by underground musicians from around the country.
The presence of Nasty Savage provides a direct connection to Tampa’s metal history, while Viogression, Leprosy, and the festival’s collection of regional underground acts demonstrate that extreme metal continues to thrive outside the mainstream.
Across two nights, the festival features musicians from Florida, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio, and Puerto Rico. That makes Tampa Death Fest a meeting point for several different corners of the underground.
For fans traveling from surrounding cities and states, that regional and national scope is part of the appeal. This isn’t just another local club show. It’s an opportunity to spend an entire weekend immersed in extreme music while discovering bands that may not regularly make it through every market.
And for Tampa itself, the festival continues the city’s long-standing role as a gathering place for extreme-metal fans.
Tickets are available for Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5 separately. Fans can also preview the lineup through the official Tampa Death Fest 2026 Spotify playlist before making the trip.
For an extreme-metal weekend that brings together Tampa history, regional underground firepower, and acts from across the broader death-metal community, Tampa Death Fest’s eighth edition looks ready to make the Brass Mug very loud once again.
